when I tell you this is the best breakfast sandwich I have ever had in my life, please believe me. if we take apart each part of the breakfast sandwich layer by layer, each piece could be eaten by itself it is so incredibly tasty. The bread is homemade, the eggs are made to perfection (not overly cooked/rubbery), the sausage is perfectly seasoned and do yourself a favor and add the hot sauce and pickles—bye I’m off to go eat this now
I had the breakfast sandwich with bacon and added the hot sauce and pickles. It was fantastic! The guy running the counter was very nice, helpful, and friendly. I would definitely go again.
This place is very peaceful and quiet. We have been to Redstart Takeaway twice and ordered the night pizza.
This place is INCREDIBLE! I live in the neighborhood and have been meaning to check out Takeaway for a while and cannot believe I deprived myself of it this long. My wife and I went for breakfast this morning and had arguably the best bacon egg and cheese I've had in Durm. The hot sauce and pickles are a must-add and we got a side of potatoes. I left happy, full and wholly unprepared for getting to work on this Friday morning. Perhaps the best part about Takeaway is the atmosphere. The staff are sweet and the interior design is so warm, inviting and just plain cool. I have a feeling I'll be coming in here every week for a breakfast sandwich, grab and go lunch and one of their candles shaped like a loaf of bread. Please go here and support this place, it's a true gem and you'll leave with a smile on your face. PS: The parking around the back makes it 10x more accessible and less stressful than trying to park on the roxboro side.
Sara s easily one of the most attentive and hard-working people I've seen at a food establishment. Sara goes out of her way to make sure that you feel appreciated and your needs are being met. I'm not from around here but whenever I'm back in North Carolina I will make sure to stop here grab a coffee from next door and a delicious breakfast sandwich.

We came for their new dinner service around 6:30. The food came out quickly. I ordered the quarter chicken and the green been salad (special). The quarter chicken that is served with pickles, cabbage, and potatoes is a fantastic value (12.50) for the high quality of food. Everything we had was seasoned well and the roasted chicken was very moist. The sides all complimented the chicken very well and felt like a truely balanced meal. The value and quality is difficult to beat. Overall, I would definitely return for dinner. If you’re interested in breakfast, I highly recommend getting the Egg and cheese with pickles and their smoked hot sauce!
Ok, the hype is real: the English muffin sandwiches are phenomenal. Popped in to grab a quick bite on a Sunday afternoon and I’m already scheming how to make this a regular weekday stop before work or for lunch periodically. Park around back to avoid the business on Roxboro!
Delicious food! Cant believe I had not tried this place before. They do "upscale" prepared meals - think restaurant quality and not as expensive. Their restaurant offers simple but amazingly prepared foods. Their eating area is slightly cafeteria-like, but I'll definitely be coming back for their delicious squash, potatoes and chicken. They also served a hefty portion of pickles with dinner (I love pickles!) They have a limited selection of drinks on tap, and a limited but comprehensive selection of things from their fridge - beer, wine, NA cocktails, juices, fizzy water, etc
Redstart foods are always giving excellent flavor. My 10 year old insisted that I write a 5-star review on her behalf, so these are her words: Some of the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had. The bacon is perfect. The English muffin is really soft and scrumptious. The pickles are also really good—sweet and tart—and I love how you made them.
